UHC-MOS Single Push-Pull Circuit, for balancing details and power
The PMA-2000AE features UHC (Ultra High Current) MOS circuitry that has been
developed to balance advanced speaker drive capabilities and improved sound
quality. UHC-MOS technology uses a minimum number of amplifier elements
while achieving approximately 10 times the normal supply of current, balancing
artistic expression with high output power. The PMA-2000AE thus masterfully
reproduces the full sonic range from soft delicate details to powerful transparent
climaxes of a musical performance.
Power Amp Direct and PRE OUT terminals
The PMA-2000AE is equipped with a Power Amp Direct terminal that enables direct
input to the unit's power amp from another preamp, and a convenient PRE OUT
terminal to which another device such as a power amp or subwoofer can be
connected. The Power Amp Direct function can be turned on or off via a switch on the
front panel. This function can be used in a variety of applications in an A/V surround
system without requiring complicated set-up procedures. Plenty of consideration
for sound quality has been given, such as PRE OUT terminal using output from the
discretely-configured flat amp of the MOS-FET output.
Wide Range Playback, supporting next-generation audio
The volume, tone, and power amp circuits have each been reviewed, resulting in a
playback frequency with an upper limit of 100 kHz during actual use. This wide-range
playback feature supports advanced audio formats such as Super Audio CD and
DVD-Audio.
Parts strictly selected for high sound quality
OFC wire has been used for internal wiring to preserve the naturalness of sound
with minimal distortion. The PMA-2000AE also uses many other parts, such as
film capacitors, electrolytic capacitors, resistors, and inductors, that have
undergone stringent listening tests for their suitability for high sound quality while
DENON was developing the high-end PMA-SA1 and PMA-SA11. All have been
carefully selected and tuned to ensure they do not add any particularities of their
own to the quality of the original sound.
Machined gold-plated pin jacks
Machined gold-plated pin jacks for PHONO and CD input have been installed with
sufficient space between them to accommodate large, high-grade pin cables.
Audiophiles are thus able to choose their favourite audio cable to suit the sound
they are looking for and improve the overall sound quality of their system.
